This dog has a several names - Caucasian mountain dog, Caucasian ovcharka, Caucasian shepherd dog, Kavkaskaia Ovtcharka, etc. It is a flock guardian dog having ancestors in pre-historic molossers in Caucasus. These dogs are useful for guarding sheeps and protecting them against wolves, bears or thieves. Caucasian dogs are amazing because of their outstanding working qualities and striking appearance. Caucasian Ovcharka's origin country is Russia where is this dog popupar. "Ovtcharka" means shepherd dog in Russian language. Some other countries are focused on breeding this dog too - Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and some other European countries.
